Flash Fiction Competition
Write a story about death, dying, bereavement, loss or legacy, using 100 letters or less.
100 letters - that's not many to tell a story! Everyday Twitter users are challenged to share thoughts and opinions with a strict character count, we thought we would apply the same challenge to a specific important subject matter. Inspire us with your wordsmithing and you could be the lucky winner of a huunuu guided journal.
The competition runs from the 9-22 Feb 2021 and stories must be submitted by 23.30 GMT on the 22nd February 2021 (sorry late entries will not be included).
The competition will be judged by the huunuu team. The one we feel is the most well-rounded will be the winner.
Maximum letter count is 100 (excluding title) but there is no minimum. Please do not submit stories above this count as they will be automatically disqualified. Please include the letter count in your email.
Stories can be in any genre and you can enter multiple stories, but each story must be submitted separately.
By entering the competition, you agree to your story being published on huunuu’s websites and social media and published material.
To enter, simply email firstname.lastname@example.org with your story or comment on a competition social media post. Please pop 'flash fiction' in the subject line.
As an example, here are some we've written:
'My grandmother's bookcase tells the story of her life through the books she's read. Stories of love, adventure, cats and joy.'
'Yesterday the letter arrived, official, stark, black and white. This was happening, this was suddenly very real. A diagnosis.'
'Her breath was shallow, rasping. Her pink cardigan slung over the chair as I sat and held her hand. Memories weaved in wool.'
